This Friday, May 15, our 9th and 10th grade students will take the FAST English Language Arts EOC exam. This is an important assessment, and for our 10th graders, it is a high school graduation requirement. We ask for your support in helping your student be fully prepared by ensuring they: Arrive to school on time, bring a fully charged device, and get a good night’s rest the evening before. |

Dear Collegiate High School Family,
Over the last three years, it has been my privilege to help lead our teachers, staff, and students. With my husband retiring after 20 years in the Air Force, however, we are off on a new adventure, and that means I must leave a part of my heart behind in Niceville as we move along to St. Louis, Missouri at the end of June.
Collegiate High School is such a blessing in disguise. It is a postage stamp on the edge of Niceville, hidden away on the Northwest Florida State College campus. While some may view CHS as “just like any other high school”, I challenge them to step inside and just observe. You will see counselors putting aside tasks to immediately respond to students and their needs. You will hear students being respectful to others, understanding that CHS is a place to be kind. You will view teachers who have planned lessons where even adults can learn a little something. Bus drivers and a coordinator who sacrifice a little sanity to get students safely to school. A student support team like no other that collaborates to attack any situation with grace and patience.
Seniors, chatting excitedly about graduation and college visits; juniors, looking ahead to their final year; sophomores, getting ready to jump into college course with apprehension, but excitement; freshmen, learning how to interact with others and harness maturity throughout the year. Just watch.
Can you see it? Collegiate High School is led by passionate, lifelong learners who will always do what is best and right for your children. They will provide your children with individualized attention to guide them to success in their academic, personal, emotional, and collegiate journey.
A special thank you to the Parents of Collegiate for jumping in and assisting with some of my crazy ideas to bring positive change to Collegiate High School. Thank you to the teachers for letting me into your classrooms to supervise instruction and offer support. Thank you, Lori Shaak, for being my partner in this leadership role and guiding me to strengthen my own skills. I will always be grateful for my time at CHS and for the memories that I will take with me.
Forever Grateful,
Mrs. Tristin Waller

During Teacher Appreciation Week, we extend our sincerest thanks to our parents and community for their generous support in celebrating both our teachers and staff. A special thank you to the DeAngelis Family for providing breakfast, the Bawa Family for donuts, the C.A.R.E. Crew and Interact Club for organizing thoughtful gifts, the Cuilla Family for lunch sides, the Jackson Family for providing lunch, the Mercurio Family for coffee beans, the Sutton Family for donuts , and Parents of Collegiate for their monetary donations toward new t-shirts.
In addition to wonderful, daily treats, our Parents of Collegiate came together and renovated our teacher lounge. Special thanks to the Morris Family, the Casas Family, the Gilbar Family, The Thomas Family, the Duplechain Family, and the Waller Family for donating a full Saturday for this big job. The teachers are so thankful for a homey, clean place to relax during their limited breaks. THANK YOU!
We are incredibly grateful for our dedicated teachers and staff at Collegiate High School. Your commitment and passion make a lasting impact every day. The support from our community means the world to us.

Collegiate High School proudly celebrated the outstanding achievements of our students who were honored at the Awards Ceremony on May 5, 2026. With over 300 students recognized, the evening was a powerful reflection of the dedication, perseverance, and excellence that define our school community. Each award represents not only academic and personal accomplishment, but also the commitment our students show every day in pursuing their goals. We are deeply grateful to the parents, teachers, and community members whose continued support, encouragement, and investment make these successes possible.

The CHS Music Creators Club hosted an Open Mic in the Hangar on April 30. Students, including club members and nonmembers, performed songs, shared original poems, and even competed in a live rap battle. Three students — Noah Seeliger, Dillinger Mayew, and Ethan Spratt — each performed original songs to enthusiastic applause from the audience. |
